Converting Macrium Reflect Free to 30-Day Trial

Converting Macrium Reflect Free to a 30-Day Trial

Macrium Reflect is the trusted endpoint backup solution for Home and Business, used worldwide to protect documents, data and operating systems. Using advanced disk imaging technology your entire disk contents, including operating system and data, is securely saved in an easily recoverable backup file.
One of the exciting new features of Macrium Reflect 7.2 is the Free Edition can now be automatically ‘converted’ to a 30-Day Trial by selecting any of the features not available in the Free Edition.
We realised that many of our Free Edition users are unaware that there are additional features available in the trial and paid for versions of Macrium Reflect so we have tried to make it as easy as possible to test the “missing” features.
All ‘premium’ features can now be activated and trialled for 30 days:
- Image Guardian,
- Changed Bock Tracker,
- Incremental Images,
- Encryption
- ViBoot

What happens after the 30-days trial?
After 30 days a further 7-day extension is offered. On expiration of the trial, the functionality Macrium Reflect reverts to the Free Edition, and Premium features will no longer be available. We’ve tried to make this process as seamless and unobtrusive as possible without losing any of the functionality of Macrium Reflect Free.
How to activate the premium features?
The following dialogue is displayed when you take a premium feature option in the Free Edition if there has been no Trial key on the system before.
Go to the menus, for example, “Other Tasks.” And click on the feature that you want to activate:

For example, let see the MIG Settings:

Once you click “Start Trial,” this window will appear:

This will be the next message, please note that you will be prompted with any further steps you may need to take (such as a reboot):

What’s next?
The following dialogue is displayed at startup after the 30 trial has expired:

The following dialogue presented after the 30-Day Trial has expired and you’ve reverted to Free if you activated Macrium Image Guardian during the Trial.
What happens when the 7 extra days expires?
The following dialogue will be displayed at startup after the 7-day trial extension has expired.

At this point, you can either purchase a full license and continue with the additional features, ReDeploy (which is not included in the trial) and a year of Technical Support. Or you can revert to the Free Edition, but you will lose the additional features. However, you can continue to be able to back up your PC as Full or Differential images.
