1. Install backup software
You don’t have a backup solution yet? Try Macrium Reflect; there is a 30-Day Trial of all editions. The first step is to install Macrium Reflect on your PC.
- Launch your web browser from the Start menu, desktop or taskbar.
- Navigate to the Macrium Reflect website.
- Choose the backup solution that fits for you, probably Macrium Reflect home edition.
4. Click Download 30-Day Trial button.
5.Click the icon to run the application.
Follow the easy steps to install.
Macrium Reflect is easy to use and allows you: image single or multiple partitions and clone disks, file and folder backup, GPT and Dynamic disk support as well as providing a ReDeploy function that allows images to be restored to dissimilar hardware.
2. Back-up all your work
When you go on holiday you want peace of mind regarding those important documents.
At Macrium we know the frustration of lost information perfectly. With Macrium Reflect 7, you can backup folders or individual documents, you don’t need to create a whole image of the disk.
A file and folder backup is a useful way to backup your working files, personal files and precious data. Unlike other backup solutions, Macrium Reflect can backup open and locked files by using Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS). You can backup your documents folder and save the backup as an XML file for easy re-running and scheduling.
From the Backup taskbar in Macrium Reflect, select Create a File and Folder backup to start the backup wizard. Select the button Add folder to select the folder you want to backup, or the folder containing the files you want to backup. The software is smart; several different masks and wildcards can be specified to include specific files within the given directory or exclude other files.

3. Protect documents, data and operating systems
To create a backup image of your whole computer you can use Macrium Reflect you can choose the option: ‘Image selected disks on this computer’ or select ‘Create an image of the partition/s required to backup and restore Windows’.
You can image the whole disk or by partitions. Macrium Reflect allows you set up the image destination; we recommend using an external drive to store your backups, either a USB connected drive or a networked drive.

4. Protect your backups against ransomware
Do you have protection against ransomware? At Macrium Software, we develop Macrium Image Guardian that protects your backup files from unauthorised modification.
MIG only grants write access to Macrium Reflect 7.1 and any image tools created by us. All other processes will be denied write access. Nobody can encrypt your files and ask you for a ransom payment to get them back.
MIG protects local NTFS volumes and allows Macrium Reflect 7.1 and later to use the protected volume as a shared network resource.

5. Easy disk migration
Do you want to upgrade your PC with a larger HD or SSD?
With Macrium Reflect it is possible to clone an entire hard drive or specific partitions on a hard drive. This is useful if you are upgrading to a larger hard drive.
You can boot the target disk on the same system after cloning. Cloning your hard drive creates a bootable new hard drive with the state of your computer at the time you undertook the clone.
Easy disk migration, you drag and drop the partitions that you want to clone, you can modify the size of each partition to fit the new disk if required, including expanding or shrinking the available space to fit the new disk.
